Olympic Moves for FreestyleMax

Canadian Olympic Snowboard Half Pipe contender Jeff Batchelor was in the Main Olympic Press Centre in Vancouver with FreestyleMax talking to The Canadian Press last week.  FreestyleMax has had a long association with snowboard professionals (coaches athletes instructors) as a teaching tool. This Olympics, FreestyleMax will be shown to the world (via The Canadian Press) and used to explain the technical moves of some of the Olympic snowboard athletes.

FreestyleMax helps Olympic News Agency

2010 will always be known as the Winter Olympics year and Olympic fever has hit FreestyleMax. Mikkel sitting on second place in the Dewtour

December 18-21 2008 at Breckenridge Colorado was the first round of the Winter Dewtour with a world class line up of riders. Mikkel Bang placed second in the Mens Slopestyle to Shaun White. 8-11 January 2009 is the second round for the Dewtour in Mt Snow Vermont. Teenage Rampage Australian Junior Series the best ever

FreestyleMax is proud to be associated with the Teenage Rampage Australian Junior Series that kicked off in July and completed in August. Congratulations to Sam Murphy (NSWIS rider) who took out the overall position in this 2 star TTR event. The overall winners in the 3 age categories of the male and female riders have won a ride in the Ocean and Earth chopper. Mikkel wins New Zealand Burton Open Slopestyle

Congratulations Mikkel on winning the NZ Burton open Slopestyle with a switch frontside boardslide, cab540 nose tap, cab720 mute, switch backside 900 mute, 270 on the rail and alley-opp wallride. With his 3 runs getting progessively better, Mikkel led the way ahead of Canada's Charles Reid (2nd) and US's Chas Guideman. Mikkel Bang takes second place in the Nokia Air'n'Style 2007
Congratulations Mikkel for that switch BS 1080 & Cab360. In a 3 round elimination series, Mikkel Bang took second place in the superfinal with 281 points, to Kevin Pearce's 286 points. From the round one draw there was suspense when Mikkel had to eliminate last year's Air n Style winner Travis Rice; then in round two eliminate Eero Ettal. It was a champion performance for our team rider who incidentally was the youngest competitor in the main contest. Read more about it at www.air-style.com

Mikkel wins Nordic Open Park Attack

TTR 3 star event Hemsedal. 30 March-1 April 07 Mikkel Bang takes out first place at the Nordic Open adding 550 TTR ranking points to move him to 18th spot. Mikkel wins Rookie Challenge at Air & Style

Blast Off. Australia's surfing legend Barton Lynch held his Blast Off surfing competition recently at Sydney's Palm Beach. Barton was able to attract surfing legends, Rob Machado and Pat O'Connell (pictured) just to name a few.  FreestyleMax was pleased to be a prize sponsor, donating products to the finalists in all age groups. It’s official. That's right! FreestyleMax was seen on the Snowshow on Channel 9 on 29 July 2006. Filmed at Mt Hotham, Victoria, the Snowshow's presenters Marcus and Charlie; and Mt Hotham snowboard instructor Grant Elliott explained what FreestyleMax can be used for. Grant was seen demonstrating turns using FreestyleMax, while Charlie enjoyed creating a new move called the "Charlie Horse". APSI recommends FreestyleMax
FreestyleMax was in Thredbo on 7 June at the annual Trainers Coordination meeting for the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructors (APSI). After presenting FreestyleMax the Snowboard Instructor to APSI’s top 30 snowboard trainers, the feedback was overwhelming and positive. APSI saw the benefits of the range of movement in FreestyleMax and will be recommending its instructors use it when teaching snowboard lessons. FreestyleMax the Snowboard Instructor – the instructor used by instructors.

Mikkel wins Burton Glory Days of Summer competition presented by Mountain Dew.

Congratulations Mikkel on winning the Burton Glory Daze of Summer competition last month. What a way to spend your summer holidays. First prize was a Can-Am 250 ATV (as seen in the photo below) while Thomas Harstad (second) and Mad Jonsson (third) won Surftech longboards for their placings.
Sixteen of Norway's finest board riders gathered for the first ever surf/skate/snow contest in northern Europe. Mikkel’s strongest points were gained in the surfing and snowboarding legs to secure him first place over the 3 day competition.

Leffelaar scores second place in recent NZ Comp.

Congratulations Antz for second place in the Dakine Mountain Dew Street Rail comp in Christchurch. The season’s off to a good start. (photo on the right).

Following his win at the Hemsedal Spring Sessions Mikkel was determined to push the limits even further. Recently at a private photo shoot in Norway Mikkel went big with a stylish backside 7 off a kicker with a 110ft gap! Mikkel stomped the landing approximately 180 ft from the kicker, a personal best for him.  This is what Mikkel had to say….

“Well I wasn't planning on jumping at all. But I did. It was fun for sure!!”

Good onya mate. Lookin’ forward to seeing you Down Under this season!  And good luck for your upcoming exams at school.
